A holistic approach to healing
"Traditional Oriental Medicine offers a unique lens to view health, focusing on the body as an interconnected system where balance is the key to recovery and performance."
Elaine has been practicing for 15 years, helping patients navigate complex health challenges through the integration of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and therapeutic massage. Although a generalist within her practice, she has done advanced training in sports medicine and gastrointestinal disorders within Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Academic foundation
Elaine graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 2007 with a Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. This rigorous program provided a deep understanding of both the classical roots and modern applications of acupuncture and herbal therapy.
She also trained in Oriental Body Therapy with advanced training in Chinese Tui Na therapeutic massage, a specialized form of medical massage used to treat musculoskeletal and internal disorders.
Clinical focus & specialization
With over a decade and a half of clinical experience, Elaine has developed specialized protocols for:
- Sports Medicine: Utilizing acupuncture to accelerate recovery, reduce inflammation, and improve athletic performance.
- Gastrointestinal Disorders: Addressing root causes of digestive dysfunction through Traditional Chinese Medicine principles.
- Tui Na Therapeutic Massage: Applying medical massage techniques to resolve pain and restore structural balance.
- Stress & Anxiety Management: Regulating the nervous system to improve sleep, mood, and overall resilience.
Beyond the clinic
When she isn't in the clinic, Elaine is often found outdoors enjoying a hike or training in various martial arts. She has a particular focus on Japanese swordsmanship, a discipline that mirrors the precision and focus she brings to her medical practice.
At home, she enjoys being bossed around by her Shiba Inu named Peaches.
